- Golden laurel · imperial cloak · the only goose who commands a legion.
- Habit
- When someone plays at being king it does not argue, it simply walks past — it knows that neither confirming nor denying is the most frightening answer.
- Catchphrase
- It cuts its sentences short. "Is that so." "Enough." No explanation follows — only the one who asks again loses.
- Weakness
- It cannot handle a younger goose speaking to it sincerely. Threats and flattery it turns aside; a guileless "must be nice being king" leaves it with nothing to say.
- Proud of
- It never boasts outright, yet it quietly minds the state of the cloak — it will not go out in a creased one.
- Likes
- It likes quiet. It has not held a banquet once since the coronation — standing alone on the wall looking down is the only pleasure it keeps.
- Secret
- On coronation day the crown was too heavy and it slipped it off to rest a moment. One cleaning goose saw, and has told nobody since.
- Gets on with
- Only with Whygoose is it slow to respond — the guileless question is exactly its weak spot, and perhaps for that reason it is the one it lets speak freely.
- Awkward with
- The whole false-authority club (Kingoose, General Goose, Broose). Not hated so much as tiring.

- On rainy days it stands on the wall longer — everyone else goes inside, so the time alone stretches out.
After the Ash Feather vanished, the empire stopped scattering its gladiator geese across many ludi and replaced that with a sentence: win and you will be remembered. Emperoose is the one who climbed to the top of that new board. Standing at the far opposite end of the road the Ash Feather took — fleeing towards freedom — it sits atop the Colosseum and has never once said that name aloud.
