- In a genuinely ordinary place it gets anxious instead. Something has to be out of true for it to settle.

- That everyone remembers the places it has passed — it quietly takes "it's gone strange" as a compliment.

- It likes teatime but has no sense of time, so it offers tea at any hour.

- It was frightened of the warped world at first too. It has simply become its identity since.

- Moaigoose. The one thing that neither shifts in face nor in place, which is oddly restful.
